Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan, USA. The American victimology syndrome continues to manifest itself in new manipulative creativity exhibited by fictims. In quest for personal protection order, hoaxer Ryan Lee Hughes fabricated a threat tale which landed him in jail.

Early in October 2018. Ryan Lee Hughes tells police that while he was walking home through downtown Mt. Pleasant at night, a couple drove by. The male on the passenger seat then pointed a black, semi-automatic pistol at Ryan saying: "you're lucky we're downtown or I would blow out your brains,", according to police report. Ryan also described the car.

Launching investigation, police went to the couple's house and found the car, but the engine was not warm, as an indication is has been parked a while longer than Ryan claimed. Police interviewed the couple and they denied having been to downtown that night. Police interviewed Ryan again and asked him what they would find if they reviewed CCTV footage in the downtown area where Ryan claimed the incident occurred. After insisting for a while, Ryan finally admitted he concocted the claim.

According to police, the couple and Ryan had an incident earlier, about a year ago when the couple accused him of "stealing dogs", which might explain why he chose this couple in his fictimhood quest

October 12, 2018. 32 year-old Ryan Lee Hughes was booked in Isabella County jail and held in lieu of posting $1,000 of a $10,000 bond.

October 15, 2018. He was arraigned in Isabella County Trial Court and also faces a preliminary examination before a Judge on November 01, 2018.

Jail Records show Ryan had been booked several times in 2018, In April and May.
