Cassandra Davi

Oneonta, Otsego County, New York, USA. One kidnap fictim (False victim), Three charged. This is one drama that blurred the morality lines between all four entities involved. And yes, that includes law enforcement.

June 13, 2019. While in a vehicle with a 30-year-old man, Cassandra Davi sent a text message to her father, asking for help in what she described as abduction in progress. Dad called 911 to report the alleged crime while he instinctively set off in search of his daughter. On Highway 23 in Delaware County, he spotted the alleged kidnapper's vehicle and opened fire on it. Moments later, he left with his daughter Cassandra.

However, an investigation revealed Cassandra was in the vehicle willingly, and there was no abduction attempt, but that vehicle driver was only impaired.

June 13, 2019. At the end of the day, the 30-year-old driver from New Lisbon was charged with DWAI which is more a traffic violation than a crime. 54-year-old hero dad from Davenport was charged with reckless endangerment, and daughter Cassandra A. Davi of Oneonta was charged with falsely reporting an incident.

Some opinions say police should also be charged for charging a hero dad who was simply doing what any dad would do to get back their daughter. But there is another side to this opinion. If you bring up your child well and disciplined, they should not tell you such a lie. And if they do, you should be able to know it if you know your child well enough. On the other hand, daughter enslaving her own dad to her hypoagency does not only indicate disrespect but something deeper. Imagine if dad had impulsively shot dead the driver? Let's leave that hypoagency to her mom to solve. It's the more reason why a child needs both parents growing up.

As for the driver, It is not a crime to drive a car with a girl over 18 years of age in it. But for God's sake, not a hysterical fibster. Unfortunately, over 99% are.

Moral Lesson: Choose your Deeds Carefully
