The Bronx, New York City, New York, USA. Avoiding her home country? or teaching an “overprotective mother” a lesson? A young girl struggles to find the appropriate excuse for staging her own kidnap. But the latter excuse is indeed heartbreaking.

December 17, 2019. Morning. An AMBER Alert was activated in New York after video emerged showing a teenaged Karol Sanchez being snatched and forced into a vehicle by two men while walking with her mom the previous night. The black-and-white security footage was shared around online and soon became the attention-grabber for the whole city.

Law-enforcement acted swiftly on the case and found Karol Sanchez alive and unharmed, near a park. As a procedure in criminal cases, she was interviewed by police and what did police learn? Behold, Karol Sanchez is not a kidnap victim. In fact, she staged the whole incident in which her mom was really pushed to the concrete pavement while trying to protect her.

According to police, Karol was upset that her mother was being "overprotective" and the two had a difficult relationship. Police also learned that the family was considering to move to their native Honduras, but Karol she wanted to remain in the U.S., which could have motivated her to stage the kidnapping.

Due to her young age, 16-year-old Karol Sanchez was released back to her family without charges. However, they are considering whether to charge the involved men who are believed to be in their 20s.

There you have it. Of a thousand excuses juvenile girls spew to fake their own abduction victimhood, an "overprotective" parent may be the most common and yet the most heart breaking. Karol Sanchez had been gone with men for the whole night. What did she do with them within that window of time while her mom was crying and praying for her safety? Hold that thought
