The false report led to the wrongful arrest and humiliation of 2 men before Kirstie's hoax came to light. However, she admitted lying but refused to own up completely, insisting she was raped under different circumstances than the ones she reported. Eventually, her lies headed straight to court but did not fetch her the fitting consequences
